Located in the main square of Iquitos, this church was built between 1911 and 1924. Its structure consisting in a single nave represents a wood-carved pulpit on the right side. An interesting detail is its swiss watch that has been installed in 1925.
The basin of the Yanayacu-Pucate river is one the the richest area in biodiversity in the world. Iquitos is the greatest city of the Peruvian Amazon with a population of more than 370 000 inhabitants. It is also the capital of the department of Loreto.
